Peter Russo, D.M.D. has been practicing dentistry for 20 years and has lived and worked on Cape Cod for over 10 years. Dr. Russo believes that the key to better care for his patients is by keeping himself current on new clinical approaches and techniques in the ever-evolving field of dentistry. He continuously updates his knowledge base and clinical skill set through courses and seminars.
Dr. Russo graduated from Johnson & Wales University (Providence, RI) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management, thinking at that time of becoming a gourmet chef. While volunteering at the New England Medical Center assisting patients with head and neck cancer, he decided instead to pursue a career in dentistry. He was chosen to be part of a two-year research study in the Oral Cancer Department at Tufts University and collaborated with some of the leading doctors in the field. He enrolled at Northeastern University to complete the course work necessary to enter into dental school, gained acceptance to the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1998.
Dr. Russo is looking forward to meeting you and your family.

After dental school, Dr. Russo accepted a dual appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine as well as an Assistant Professor position at the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene. During this time, he continued to dedicate time each week providing dental services to the homeless population in one of the Boston’s shelters. Dr. Russo worked at the Geiger Gibson Community Health Center (now part of the Harbor Health system), the first health center to open in the United States treating the underserved population in Dorchester. He later became one of the original dentists to help the underserved population on Cape Cod as part of the initial opening of the Ellen Jones Community Health Center in Harwich.
Dr. Russo is a member of the American Dental Society, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Cape Cod District Dental Association.
